Variation in Urban Forest Regulation of Air Particulate Matter Concentration

Urban forest was vital to adjusting Air Particulate Matter Concentration (APMC). The purpose of this study designed provide a more detailed analysis the urban long-time scales effect on APMC. paper assessed forests (urban greening) APMC in an environment, where green center (nearly 2 km2) and nearby (5 km away) bare-ground site (at road intersection) Yuhua District Changsha, China, were chosen delve into daily, seasonal, annual variation non-forested respectively. It found that: (1) daily basis, both high morning evening, but low at noon, demonstrating “two-peak-one-trough” or V-shaped pattern. Additionally, higher than evening. (2) terms season, spring winter, summer fall. (3) change showed “bimodal” trend site, with peak concentration coming later site. (4) temperature average wind speed composed main factors affecting Changsha’s ecotope. characterized pattern environment (forested non-forested), suggested appropriate recreational periods forest, gave insight planning construction greening projects.
